My first HF Holiday

Creative Patchwork course at Abingworth

April got off to a flying start with a reasonably hassle free drive down to Sussex for my first HF Holiday at Abingworth Hall, a beautiful residence complete with lake, stunning views across to the Downs and some rather splendid rooms. I was teaching creative patchwork to a small enthusiastic group in a beautiful wood panelled drawing in room, a lovely setting with views across the lawn to the water, framed by some magnificent trees. To add to the experience there was some really delicious food; I particularly liked the mini chocolate cup filled with Baileys; some glorious countryside to go tramping round and a trip to Petworth House to see some inspirational stitched pieces celebrating Capability Brown’s gardens, and some rather fab paintings including Turner, Van Eyck and Bosch.

Am off for a second course with HF Holidays in two weeks time at Malhamdale; a Craft taster Weekend – lots to have a go at including mosaic, paper cutting, book binding and felt making – https://www.hfholidays.co.uk/holi…/craft-weekend-malhamdale/ – may be see you there..
