Kawandi quilts (also known as Siddi quilts) are made by the Siddi people of West India. They are entirely hand stitched and are a great way of using up small pieces of fabric. They have a unique construction starting with a base, and appliqué patches of fabric that start from the outside edge and work inwards to the centre. Running stitch is used to hold the patches in place and the edges of each patch are folded in. Wadding can be incorporated but isn’t necessary.
Please note, Ardington has moved to a new location but retains its name
